As modern CC albums go, this one's a grower, not a shower. But there's a lot to like in the unbeatable CC combination of ferocious performances, twisting riffs, and precise, intentional songwriting. Erik Rutan really comes into his own with atmospheric lead work, and his songs "Blood Blind" and "Drain You Empty", especially the epic doom intro of the latter, are highlights.

An outstanding Extreme doom death album, in the best tradition. The funerary atmosphere reminds of Evoken ('Centuries of ooze" bears striking similarities, for my delight). It is overall sharp, dark, hypnotic and unrelenting. One of those rare convincing new bands that hold proud the legacy of the biggest names.
