PEACEVILLE RELEASE THE 1999 DEBUT ALBUM FROM BRITISH DEATH METALLERS AKERCOCKE

"The best death metal debut release ever released by a British band." – Album of the Month - Terrorizer

Akercocke spawned from London in early 1997 by friends David Gray and Jason Mendonca, who had both previously been in the underground Black Metal Band Salem Orchid. The ominous group of friends originally gained attention within the extreme metal scene through their infamous stage presence, iconic suits, and their intense satanic and psycho-sexual message.

Two years later the band self-released what would become a highly regarded extreme metal classic; the provocatively titled Rape of the Bastard Nazarene, which achieved the much acclaimed 'Album of the Month' accolade from Terrorizer. An album of brutal blackened satanic death metal, Rape of the Bastard Nazarene brings to mind the warped technicality of Vovoid & the ferocious storm of blasphemy of Deicide. Released on the band's own Goat of Mendes label and with only local promotion, the album still received widespread acclaim within the press and the entire scene driven entirely by its own merit.

In May 2016, the legendary UK metallers reformed and released a new demo of the track "Inner Sanctum". The band followed up by playing a string of summer festivals, including the mainstage at Bloodstock, and a sold out headline UK tour in September.
